Chand, a bubbly and nice girl from Ludhiana is married into a family based out of Ontario, Canada. Hoping for a good life, she instead ends up in a dysfunctional and miserable family, where his husband Rocky is the sole bread earner. Repressed Rocky and his family take out their frustrations on Chand, who has nowhere to go and is stuck in these unfortunate circumstances. She then meets a Jamaican fellow worker, Rosa at a laundry she works at and Rosa gives her a mystical root which is supposed to instigate love in the recipient towards the person who administers the root. Chand gives it to her husband and surreal incidents begin to happen..
