The movie begins with Betty being arrested on murder charges, while Jacob, her lover is on the run. However Jacob, tactfully misleads the police and flee with Betty. They somehow survives for days. Later on the way to collect passports Betty gets involved in a riot and is beaten up. She is admitted to the hospital. Meanwhile Jacob gets arrested.
In police station Jacob is ruthlessly handled by the police. They undress him and thoroughly checks to see whether he has hidden anything. Jacob finds his inmates as arrogant and unsympathetic. Jacob finds it hard to stay. He decides to escapes from the Jail. He shares it with Simon, another inmate. Initially Simon disagrees, but his quest to meet his wife and daughter again makes him say Yes to Jacob. The advocate of Appachan, questions Jacob asking where is Charlie, but Jacob remains calm and keeps saying he don't know. On being asked Who is Appachan? And what is his story? by Simon, Jacob reveals his past.
He was the manager of Appachan's finance company and Charlie the driver. Charlie was on keen to take revenge on Appachan who killed his father. During the time Jacob met Betty and fell in love. The SI of the area kidnapped a girl named Indu, Betty being the sole witness. On court Betty gives the name SI, as he has kidnapped and killed Indu. The SI after returning on a bail tortures Betty, in the anger Jacob kills the SI. Jacob tells everything to Charlie who in turn robs the 3.5 Crores of Appachan from his company. Charlie goes to Australia and makes Jacob calm saying he will soon take him and Betty. Betty is in Convent from where she is aarrested.
In present Simon and Jacob plans to escape and somehow makes the other inmates leave their cell. Meanwhile a thief named Devassy arrives and he too plans with Simon and Jacob. In a twist of fate the Jail of Simon gets changed when Police finds him hiding Marijuana in cell. Jacob digs a whole through the toilet of the cell, down the drainage to the Compound. He steps by steps starts building the tunnel with the help of Devassy and two thiefs who are basically twin theifs who initially hated the escape plan but later succumbed into learning that they have been charged on false basis.
A new inmate arrives who is arrested on the charge of molestation. Jacob and his gang somehow evades him. Udayan, with who Jacob had a brawl earlier comes to the cell to fail their plan. Appachan sends some criminals to the jail to brutally torture Jacob so that he will let know where Charlie is. The criminal gang involves Simon who in turn helps Jacob and His gang. Jacob blackmails Udayan and asks him to remain shut as he can also escape.
During the night Jacob, Simon, Devassy, Udayan, the twin brothers starts their escape process down the tunnel. In the tunnel Jacob and Udayan gets into a fight but Jacob Successfully beats Udayan and escapes. The police is alerted and Udayan is caught and brutally beaten. They start chasing the other men who escaped. All of them escapes jumping to the river, except the twin brothers.
In the concluding scene, we see Jacob with Betty in a boat saying, he managed to take Betty out of the hospital, Devassy will reach Bengal in 2-3 days. While Simon and his gang is also in other boat. He has also made bail arrangements to the twin brothers. They are going to Australia. To their dream, where Charlie is eagerly waiting for them.
