Trivikram Srinivas - the writer with the Midas touch accounted for several memorable films in the past including Nuvve Kavali, Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, Manmadhudu, Malliswari etc., For the first time, he tried his hand at direction with spectacular success with Nuvve Nuvve produced by Sravanthi Ravikishore. Nuvve Nuvve was a very touching love story with great music.

This time Trivikram teams up with Prince Mahesh Babu for ATHADU to create an explosive action entertainer. ATHADU can easily be rated as the most stylized action film in Telugu cinema till date. The film went on to achieve unprecedented success every where, even more in the US.

Nandu (Mahesh Babu), an orphan, is a top-notch professional killer in town. He conducts his operations with the help of his buddy (Sonu Sood). In one such operation, he is pursued by the cops. While fleeing from the crime scene, he unintentionally becomes the cause for the death of a stranger called Pardhoo (Rajiv Kanakala), an youngster who ran away from home as a child, now returning home after 12 years. Nandu assumes the identity of Pardhoo and enters his household in a remote village to escape from the cops. From there on Nandu’s life takes a very unpredictable turn. Is Nandu just a heartless killer who perpetrates crime or he himself is the victim of a larger conspiracy whose knowledge would devastate Nandu.

Trisha is gorgeous. Technically, the film is rated on par with the best in Hollywood. Cinematographer KV Guhan deserves a pat on his back for his fine work. Action by Peter Hynes is excellent. Production values of Jayabheri who have made a film after a long hiatus, are extra ordinary. A MUST OWN DVD.
