Vastadu Naa Raju is all about Venky (Vishnu) is an aspiring kick boxing champion who is waiting for that one big chance. Narasimha (Prakash Raj) is a local dada who aims to become a politician. Luckily for him Home Minister (Sayaji Shinde ) son (Ajay) loves Narasimha’s sister Pooja (Taapsee) and he gets a chance to become politician if he gets his sister married to Home Minister son.
Narasimha and few others come to a conclusion that Venky and Pooja are in love. But the fact is they don’t know each other. Due to few situations Narasimha believes that Venky is Pooja’s lover and he tries to kill him. Venky then kidnaps Pooja to teach a lesson to Narasimha. What follows next is left to your imagination.
Vastadu Naa Raju script has a novel point and the director did a fine job to narrate this story without any confusion. The narrative is not bad until the interval point. Despite few lows it holds the audience interest until the intermission. But the director didn’t have proper content at his hands to drive the movie in the post interval portions. Hence he included unnecessary songs and fights which irritates the audience. He kept on dragging the movie without any good reason and finally ends it on a predictable note. The film could have finished in just over two hours as the storyline is wafer thin. But the director took his own time and made a film which is almost 2hours 45 minutes. Hence, the film gets on to audience nerves as they continuously stare at their watches to wait for the minute it ends. Except for a simple but novel plot, Vastadu Naa Raju is uninteresting and boring to the core.
