The film opens with flashbacks of Ghayal. Furious youthful Ajay Mehra shoots and slaughters Balwant Rai (who had killed Ajay's sibling) and surrenders himself to upright cop Joe DSouza. Ajay is sentenced to jail. Upon his discharge he starts another vocation as a columnist for an autonomous daily paper.
