Umesh (Nivin Pauly) is a carefree engineering student, who has 42 back papers to clear. His close pals are Shaji (Aju Varghese) and Thankaprasad (Neeraj Madhav). Wanting to find a quick way to make money and fame he decides to try his hand in movies and sets out to meet renowned director south-Indian Gautham Vasudev Menon. Umesh boards a train to Chennai where he finds Daisy (Manjima Mohan), his neighbour. Umesh clicks a selfie with Daisy without her knowledge and shares it in social media. Umesh tries to woo Daisy while in the train, but miserably fails.
After spending 6 days in Chennai, Umesh returns to his town in Thalassery. He finds a slew of people waiting for his return and he later learns from his friend Shaji that the selfie clicked by him had created a big problem among his family and neighbours. They thought Umesh had eloped with Daisy to Chennai who is his love.
In order to clear his name, Umesh and Shaji sets out to Chennai where they meet a Private Detective Jack Tracker (Vineeth Sreenivasan). With the help of Jack, Umesh finds Daisy and later it is revealed that she in love with a guy Hari Narayanan (Unni Mukundan) and wants to marry him. Daisy wanted to start a life with him. She also tells them that she had never met him before other than chatting in Facebook or by an e-mail. Later Umesh, Daisy, Shaji and Jack Tracker sets out to find Hari Narayanan and travels to his hometown Pazhani. The gang later manages to go to Hari's house with the help of a farmer. It is revealed that Hari Narayanan had committed suicide one year before as his friend and business partner John Mathew Bhaskar had cheated him in their business venture and that John Bhaskar is using Hari's Facebook and email accounts to cheat others.
Jack tracker then reveals that he is a cyber cell agent called Nivin and he did all these to find the brain behind the online fraud. He also says that the true intention of the guy in the internet is to cheat women and steal their money. After the set of confusions Umesh, Daisy and Shaji goes back to Kerala. A few months later Umesh meets Nivin at a resort where he says that the cybercell group had found the real culprit John Mathew Bhaskar. Nivin then lets Umesh to vent out his anger on John for cheating innocent girls like Daisy. The last scene of the movie shows Umesh walking towards John's desk with a beer bottle and hitting him on his head with the bottle.
