Velipadinte Pusthakam Malayalam DVD

Mohanlal, Anoop Menon, Arun Kurian

Plot:

During the Karkidakam season in 2007, in the suburb of Aazhipoonthura, a man later known to be Vishwanathan aka Bullet Vishwan (Anoop Menon) is ambushed by thugs as he is travelling on his bike. As he fights them of, two men arrive, later known to be Maathan Tharakan (Siddique) and his right-hand man Kaaka Rameshan (Chemban Vinod Jose), and Maathan hits Vishwan in the back of the head with a steel bar, killing him.

Now, set in the local Phoenix Arts and Sciences College, Prof. Premraj (Salim Kumar), aka 'Kaama' ('sex') Raj, is the moderately-strict vice-principal who tries to stop any relationships between boys and girls in the college, all the while continuing a relationship with Matilda, a cleaner, and watching sexual videos. There are frequent fights between the 'kadappuram' ('seafront') gang, lead by Franklin (Appani Sarath), and the 'city' gang, lead by Sameer (Arun Kurian). During one of the fights, they break the picture of Vishwan in the auditorium. Premraj is so fed up that he even goes to the extent of fitting CCTV cameras in the campus. Franklin's friend, Vignyanaakoshi (Jude Anthany Joseph), decides to change the settings into sexual videos. When Premraj turned on the TV, he sees the videos and is then caught by Fr. George Kaattuparambu (Shivaji Guruvayoor), who immediately suspends him from that position. Premraj explains to Sameer and his gang that someone else did this, but he can't do anything as someone else is coming to take charge as vice principal. He orders them to break the newcomer's legs and to make sure he doesn't take charge, and Sameer agrees to this and they also hold a small protest by the gate as he comes in, while Franklin also arrives and congratulates the new vice-principal.

The new vice-principal is revealed to be Michael Idicula (Mohanlal) who steers clear of Sameer's plan of breaking his legs. He introduces himself to the teachers, including Mary (Anna Rajan), and they both talk about their past. In Michael's first class, the students seem to like the new teacher, especially Sameer, who was praised for his making of a short film. This slightly disappoints Franklin, as he was expecting Michael to be close with him instead, but he still likes him. One day, Michael meets Varkey (Prasad Mohammah), Franklin's father, and he invites Michael to his house, very drunk. He meets Franklin's family who are happy to meet him. Later, the Physics teacher Anumol (Sneha Sreekumar), who is Mary's friend, decides to propose to Michael for her. When they go to meet Michael, he tells them to meet after the morning Qurbana at the local Latin church. They see Michael celebrating the Qurbana, revealing that he is a priest and why he still didn't marry. He doesn't know about the proposal, which they cancel; instead, Anumol goes to him and asks if he knows any one who would be willing to meet Mary and marry her, to which Michael agrees. Meanwhile, Michael finally manages to reconcile Sameer and Franklin and their gangs, and they also meet Vareethettan (Alencier Ley Lopez), a family friend of Michael who visits him frequently.

Michael makes a good impression as a vice-principal, and all of the students and the staff are fond of him. It was no wonder that when Michael suggested the idea of making a feature film to raise money for building two hostels for the college, Fr. Kaattuparambu gave permission, with only the Phoenix College staff and students in the film. Michael calls the Malayalam film producer and his friend Vijay Babu about the project, and he agrees to take part in the project. However, he remarks that the story is only good enough for a short film, not a feature one. Michael then suggests the story of Vishwan, a Hindu, who had tried for so long for a college to be built in the area in the land which was originally owned by Maathan Tharakan, a Catholic land owner. He describes Vishwan as a thug but honest man, who always stepped in to do right wherever and whenever he could. However, as the story goes, Maathan Tharakan killed Vishwan the day after the cornerstone was laid, and paid money for his right-hand man Kaaka Rameshan to be sent to jail. Vijay says that the story is perfect and goes ahead with the project.

Auditions for the film's characters and held, and all of them are chosen by Vijay and Michael, except Vishwan's role, which no-one seems to be portraying well. As there is no-one else who can play Vishwan well, Vijay decides to freeze the project. However, just after Vijay leaves, Sameer calls him back telling him that they have found someone who is perfect. The actor is revealed to be Michael and has changed his outward appearance completely, who had originally decided not to portray Vishwan for religious reasons when asked, but did it for the sake of the film and college. Vijay accepts this and the film's production begins.
