Rekka movie starts with Chezhiyan (Kabir Duhan Singh), a deadly gangster, killing the brother of another gangster David (Harish Uthaman), who makes a vow to get even. We are then introduced to Shiva (Vijay Sethupathi), who, along with his sidekick Keerai (Sathish), is known for kidnapping girls who are on the verge of getting married to men they don't like. One such girl happens to be the bride of David who surprisingly spares the hero. A few marriages (including to 80 year olds) happen; later, it is Shiva's sister who is getting married, and a stray incident by Keerai results in David blackmailing the hero to kidnap Bharathi (Lakshmi Menon), a minister's daughter.
