Synopsis:
Varun (Kalaiyarasan) , who has been blind since the age of 15 ,is a chef and owner of a popular restaurant in Chennai. Even though he is disabled, he is independent and jovial. One of his best friends is Sadhana (Jannani Iyer) who is a journalist.
One night, Deepa (Sshivada) comes into the restaurant looking for leftover food for the homeless. Varun helps her and gradually falls in love with her through their daily visits. Meanwhile , Sadhana approaches his parents and reveals her intentions of marrying Varun which they accept.
Finally ,Varun decides to propose Deepa in his restaurant one night. But she comes to meet him in tears. She reveals that henchmen were threatening her and her father to return the loan they had borrowed for older sister's wedding. She had promised to return the money in 3 days. Varun promises to help out from his own savings. They hug each other before parting which Sadhana sees and realises that he is in love with another person.
The same night, Varun is hit by a car and is hospitalized during which his vision is restored. He is treated for three weeks and the hospital fee is paid out of his savings. Varun feels guilty for not helping out Deepa.
He tries to contact and search for Deepa but couldn't reach her or find her. His family encourages him to marry Sadhana and he accepts as he gives up looking for Deepa.
Several days later, an old man finds Varun and tells him that his daughter Deepa has been kidnapped as the money wasn't returned.
Varun gives Sadhana's wedding jewellery as ransom. But mishap happens when he goes to pay the kidnappers, Deepa's father is killed and Varun was not even able to look at Deepa's face ,let alone save her. Sadhana angrily calls off the wedding.
Varun watches news segment in which a man who looks exactly Deepas father dead in a road accident in Kaniyakumari. Curious, Varun decides to visit Kaniyakumari and investigate his death.
There, He works with a constable Panju faking his identity as a journalist investigating road accidents where the victim remains unidentified. They decide to find the whereabouts of the old man and they gather several clues from his hotel residence and phone number. These clues lead them to investigate about the car that was involved in the accident and narrow down the owner of the car to a blind artist.
After listening to his story, they get hold of photos of his girlfriend and with Sadhana's help , they identify her as Vasundhara who was acting as Deepa in Chennai.
They find out that Vasundhara is a con artist whise victims are popular yound blind men. She makes the blind men fall for her and then presents a story with a need for money which the blind men give. Varun and Panju find the commonality and pinpoint a list of potential targets. Sadhana with help of her journalist associates finds out the plan to con another blind man in Erode. They immediately travel to Erode and catch the culprit Vasundhara after several twists in the plot. The movie ends with Varun reuniting with Sadhana and Panju receiving commemorations from people for his efforts in nabbing the criminal.
